Meet our Director, Lakia Lockett
"A Heart for Service, A Legacy of Support"
Born and raised in Washington, D.C., LaKia Lockett brings more than 22 years of dedicated experience in social services, uplifting individuals and families throughout Washington, D.C. and Maryland. Her work has touched thousands of lives through resource coordination, case management for first-time mothers, Head Start programming, public charter school systems, and domestic violence advocacy.
With a degree in Psychology and a Master Certification in Human Development, LaKia’s expertise is grounded in a deep understanding of human behavior, growth, and resilience. Her career reflects a lifelong commitment to helping families feel safer, supported, and empowered.
At the core of her work is a simple but powerful belief: meet people where they are, honor their humanity, and walk alongside them as they build stronger, healthier, more stable lives.
Today, LaKia continues that mission in the city she calls home — Washington, D.C., where she resides with her husband and son. Whether she’s connecting moms to essential resources or standing shoulder to shoulder with families during challenging times, LaKia’s leadership embodies compassion, dignity, and unwavering advocacy.
